OKEEDOKES so you might be wondering like WHAT ?! FOX ROCKET 20 TRANSFORMING INTO ALIENS HUH !? so am going to clarify things and talk abit about where exactly this concept is coming from.
BASICALLY yeah, once I was a little kid about 16/17 years ago and when I was a little kid around then I made some really good cartoons and stuff using Director and Kidpix. I'm gonna post some of this stuff as soon as I've transfered it from my laptop to these lavly college computers.
Anyway, one particularly epic cartoon was called THE ICE PLANET. It was about some guys in a spaceship, the planet Mars, and the Ice Planet. In all of the folders full of all of the files for this little movie, there were some audio files that had no footage to go with um!
It was in these files that I found my story for this project.
They play back like this:

Fox turns into alien fox whenever it is midnight. When it is midnight and he turns into alien fox he will go to tell everybody else and then they would all eat each other

Rocket transforms into an alien whenever it is morning - he tells all of his friends they go outside eating the stones.

Twen...ty transforms into an alien whenever it is twenty past.. and he tells all of his friends and they go outside eating the flowers.

So anyway.
I've decided to recycle this stuff from my youth and regurgetate it now in my CURRENT MODERN LIFE. I kind of feel like a time traveller.
I AM A TIME TRAVELLER.
Whilst sleeping I visited my former self and told him to do this stuff so I could use it now.

But yes, back on track. The reason why I want to do this is because it feels special. It's true and from the heart. It's innocent and imaginitive and just plain silly.
I'm still in two minds as to whether or not I should polish it for the kids and replace each other, rocks and flowers with fruit, vegetables and sandwiches or if I should keep it as it is in it's raw natural form.
Which is really what I want all of my work to be all about.
THE RAW NATURAL NATURE OF NATURE
Seriously, I don't think there's anything more important than that. It's the purest form of life and energy and nothing interesting would happen without it.
Anyway hopefully you understand a little bit more about how I'm thinking now. I've yet to proof read any of my posts so sorry if I ramble a bit. I'm kindof in a ruuuush...

ALIEN FORMS EEEK
SPLODGE WARP RAWWRRR ! !
Drawing these guys as aliens was harder than I thought. I had to do a lot of really gloopy kinda free form drawings before I got anywhere.
I drew these guys as well whilst trying to get in the mood.
Recognise these drawings at the top of this sheet? Yeah.. these guys are really helping me get ahead in life... HO HO HO !
Here's a sheet full of all different attempts at getting them to work as aliens. I was thinking of having them all essentially turn into the same thing but still have their visibly defining features on show etc. but I'm not so sure about this.
I drew a bunch of pictures of alien Rocket last night that I thought worked quite nicely (I've not bought them in to scan though, soz) but I think now at this point, I'm just gonna have to see what happens in Flash because it's REALLY IMPORTANT I get this done.
I gotta go eat anyway.
I'll post about ideas later/tomorrow!

The MAIN PLAYERS
This is the Fox. (click any image for LARGER VERSION)
Or at least this is what I drew in a rage after trying to get the smarmy little so-and-so right... threw away so many sketches, scribbled on and crumpled up so much paper before I got him to a level that I was happy with. It doesn't help that I've not been playing with colour yet and he just looks like a dog or a wolf with a star and an 'F' on his chest...
Oh that's an important note re all the characters by the way, they all have their own little logo or symbol so that when they ALIEN MORPH ! ! you can still tell that it's them.
If you click this image you can see some of the earlier weaker sketches, as well as some of the later ones that were starting to work. I tamed the beast loads and now we're all happy.

Oh, here's another spooky drawing of him that came out whilst I was trying to wrestle him out of the pencil. There's more stuff like this that you'll all get to see in good time when I make the post about all the guys alien forrrmzz - eek !

He's the cutey of the bunch. He's also a spaceship. And he can transform into an alien whenever it's morning. Originally (again this has to change - for the children) he'd go outside after changing, tell all of his friends and then they'd all eat stones. If you eat stones you choke and die and nobody wants anybody to die young because of a 30second long cartoon about a half man half spaceship half alien cuteypie. ANYWAY! I've probably had the most fun with this character. I also even considered leaving out the Fox and Twenty in favour of a 3 part story all about Rocket.
This idea still used the same themes, only Rocket would transform into a spaceship at different times of the day instead of an alien and would fly off on advetures with a gang of kids.
But naw, I prefer having the three different guys so they can all have a 30s short each. SEEMS MORE FARE ON THE FELLAS , Y'KNOW ?!
His logo is smart too because it's EXACTLY THE SAME as the Ravensbourne College logo. What a beautiful coincidence! He'll be smiling and shining and promoting and everything all at once.
TWENTY
Last but not least there's Twenty. He's like the sad big lonely bully type of guy wh you hang around with even though he picks on you just because you feel sorry for him. He transforms whenever it's (ho ho ho) 20 past... (I wrote all this stuff originally when I was about 4 - 5 1/2 years old by the way guys, priceless golden nuggets from an innocent mind is all)
I decided to make him all big and massive because 20 must have seemed like such a huge number to me when I was that age... In the original audio recording (I'll figure how to post soundbites over the next few days) I even pause half way through saying it (twen... ty) as if I'm really struggling to get my head around this HUGE number.
Any how it's getting late and I need to head home to get something to eat. I'mmm starrrrvinnnng. I might bop down to McDonalds later to use their free wifi and post some of the alien pics as well as talk more in depth about what this whole concept is actually all about etc as I don't think I've been too clear so far.

The Fox, Rocket & Twenty
Okay, so Rave on Air is fast approaching and all of us fabulous animation students have gotta make some kick ass 30 second long movies for the big show in June. I'm a bad ass and I'm making three.
Over the next couple of hours I'm gonna start posting a bunch of character development sketches for my 3 new heroes: THE FOX ! , ROCKET ! annnnd TWENTY !
They're just a bunch of unlikely mate-mans all bought together by their strange ability to uncontrollably transform into alien beings at specific times of the day. (and their love for fruit and vegetables of course).
Over the next few days I'm going to keep you updated on the progress I'm making on the project and let you know EXACTLY WHAT I AM THINKING ABOUT IT. Super neato!
